Community Hub, 1.1
We've already made some changes to the experiment. Instead of calling this the community laboratory, we're calling it the
Community Hub. Think of JFK airport, a hub of air travel, where millions of people converge every day, where ideas and journeys
transect.

I'm in my lab, cooking up something exciting
I've been having conversations with people in the community and seeing how there are so many great people and ideas, seeing
connections where people can work together, leverage each other's talents and resources. So I'm working on a project, a collaboration
site where people, groups, non profits can find each other, link to each other's resources, to work together. It's called
Community Laboratory. And it's just in the incubator stages. I'd love to have you get involved.

Imagine a place ...where people can converse, connect, share and engage with like-minded people and groups to leverage
ideas and resources, to build community. Imagine a place where we can all...change the world. Welcome to Upside
Downtown’s Community HUB, an exchange, a petri dish an incubator created on the concept of The Great Good Place, to
create, inspire and nurture citizens and non-profits for collaboration in the greater good. Using a systems approach which
sees all things as interrelated, this is accomplished through a physical location, an online social networking/matchmaking/information
exchange site, an outgoing newsletter and other promotional tools, all built to nurture ideas and nonprofits and to spread
the word for people and causes. This is a place where many people and organizations can convene to share and address common
concerns, where dialogue and connections are facilitated for collaboration and innovation. Coming Soon!! Time Banks Weave Community One Hour at a Time
For every hour you spend doing something for someone in your community, you earn one Time Dollar. Then you have a Time
Dollar to spend on having someone do something for you. It's that simple. Yet it also has profound effects. Time Banks change
neighborhoods and whole communities. Time Banking is a social change movement in 22 countries and six continents.
Here are a few of the things we're working on Are you someone who wants to make a difference?
Go to our VOLUNTEER section, enter your critiria and we'll match you with nonprofits for enrichment and assistance
in volunteering based on shared values, skills and mission. Are you a nonprofit? Do you need resources, people?
We'll help you collaborate to share resources and more. Find your perfect match: an online social networking/matchmaking/information
exchange site that employs an easy to use search and matchmaking tool that inventories all nonprofits, and provide methods
to link them by commonalities so that they can work together to:
Create economies of scale. Soon this will be more than an online network. We're working on
technology to create a true matchmaking venture using an innovative software tool which acts as a databank of assets and resources
that can find matches between nonprofits and others, to generate collaboration.
Are you a business
that wants to make a difference? Through our cohort system we'll help you match your for profit business with
a nonprofit to provide synergy and cross-platform opportunities Other initiatives: Match donors with nonprofits based on shared values, skills and mission Match grants with
nonprofits so that funds are shared and spread across groups.

help nurture ideas, inspire dreams and change the world. Upside Downtown’s newsletter and other promotional
